Hazel & Drew
Carol & I have known for quite sometime now, that this moment would arrive. It is time to say farewell (but not goodbye) to our good friends Drew & Hazel. They have decided to make their life together, on the otherside of the world, in Western Australia. Last night we had our last supper together! The venue was one of our favourite haunts, The Vista, at The Club.
Best buddies!
We all had a very nice time, though underneath, it is tinged with a little sadness, over their departure. Both have played an important part in our lives, over the last decade. They know that they are doing the right thing. We know the same, but it doesn’t make it any easier, saying farewell.
Something's funny!
Drew & Hazel have exciting times ahead of them. They have the comfort of a home base in the form of Hazel’s sister and family, while they search for new jobs and eventually a new home. Western Australia is booming at the moment and it seems an excellent time to make the move.
Both of them are outdoor types and there is a lot of space to play in over there! We expect to hear & see their adventures in the coming months.
As you fly out tonight, all our thoughts, love and best wishes fly with you. Your new life beckons. Just make sure you buy a house with a granny flat, because me & the Granny are coming to visit!
Don't be dismayed at goodbyes. A farewell is necessary before you can meet again. And meeting again, after moments or lifetime, is certain for those who are friends.
Steve & Carol
