A very early start from Negale on 18th February saw us birding the Darwa River & adjacent bush just after dawn. It was quite a productive few hours.

We then continued to Wachile & down into the Soda Plains. Where we saw our first Stresemann's Bush Crows!

As we descended the valley it got wilder & wilder & we started seeing some game.

The rest of the day was spent driving to the far south we stayed the night at Borana Lodge to explore the Soda Plains.

Borana Lodge was a great place to stay.

We were up early on 19th February & birded around the lodge. It was a lovely morning & the birding was excellent.

We explored the area in 4 x 4's.

It was very arid & dusty!

We then went further south exploring some back tracks on the Soda Plains. Birds were not prolific but the quality was good.
