Red necked Falcon
Known as Red-necked Falcon in Africa, but Red-headed Falcon in India. This is quite a widespread species but always rare & local across its range. These two birds are only my third sighting in all my years of birding!
This pair were in acacia savanna on the edge of a large dry pad, but they are also found in palm savanna.
This pair had caught a small bird
& were sharing the kill
& were sharing the kill
Very pleased with this sighing!
This was one of the highlights of my time in Etosha National Park.
