A Singapore sling!

Arrived in Singapore on 14th April just ahead of Rowan & Ceggy. We then had a little walk, exploring the local area before meeting up with Tom, (Ceggy's Dad). Over a meal we planned out the next day.

Marina Bay Sands Hotel.

We spent the day at the Gardens by the Bay. This is the number 1 tourist attraction in Singapore & it didn't disappoint! The place is quite superb & much better than I thought it would be + the views across the bay are great!

The entrance to Raffles Hotel.

Hey Carol, I am in Raffles
with our little girl!
It just has to be done!
Tom, Ceggy & me with our
almost obligatory Singapore Slings!

After a quick wash & brush up we visited the Billiard room at the Raffles Hotel. This really is a splendid place for a drink. We all enjoyed our almost obligatory Singapore Slings & then went on to champagne & oysters & I finished off with a wonderful vodka martini! Fantastic place to spend some time, we all enjoyed it.

Not in this game girl!
Ha! Ha! Ha! Scotland!

The next two days were all about rugby. The fantastic rugby sevens goes from strength to strength around the world each year & Singapore was holding this event for the first time. The stadium was impressive & facilities excellent. We had a lot of fun & saw some amazing skills on display among all the teams.

There were quite a few upsets on the field, culminating in the biggest upset of them all, Kenya winning the final against Fiji! Marvelous stuff!

We all met up with Brandon (Ceggy's uncle) who had just flown in from Sydney that day. Ceggy & Rowan are staying in Brandon's house while they find their feet in Oz. They hope to be working soon, as funds are running short!

I flew out the next day to Perth.
