An extraordinary incident!

I was visiting the south western portion of Kruger National Park on 12th August. When I came across four White Rhinos near Gardenia Hide. What transpired next was quite extraordinary & I have never seen anything like it before!

A male rhino was deliberately targeting a calf.

He kept hooking his horn under its leg

He was trying to knock it over!

Eventually after much squealing the calf got away.

The rogue male!

He thinks about it & then attacks again!

This time with a lot of force.

A bit of an uneven contest this one!

He then hooks his horn under its leg again.
The female did nothing!

He is hooking his horn in the soft spot
 in the calf's stomach.

It really was quite nasty to watch.

Then another male came from nowhere
& attacked the rogue male!
This shot is taken through my windscreen, so hazy.

Mum & calf watch on.

The battle still went on further down the road.

The new male comes back to the female & calf.
 Job done!
